The library is a place for self-study and research; members should maintain a healthy and peaceful environment.
An identity card is mandatory for entering the library.
Before entering the library, a user must sign into the gate register.
Personal belongings: - e.g., bags, suitcases, umbrellas, etc., must be kept at the property counter. However, individual books, periodicals, and loose paper are allowed with prior notice from the library staff.
Eatable items (biscuits, cookies, fruits, chocolates, cold drinks, tea/coffee, etc.) are strictly prohibited in the library. Only non-disposable water bottles are allowed.
Newspaper (s) should be folded properly after reading and returned to the designated place.
Sleeping and gossiping are strictly prohibited inside the library.
Users should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate, or damage library material in any way. Anyone found doing so will be charged with the full replacement cost of the damaged material.
Chairs, tables, and other library equipment, fittings, and furniture should not be marked, defaced, or disarranged.
Users should not carry books from one floor to another. They should leave the books on the reading table after use.
Users must be respectful to staff and other patrons.
Users violating the library's rules shall be liable to forfeit the privileges of the library and its services, and their membership is liable for termination.
Security cameras have been installed in reading rooms to protect library materials and ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
Patrons are advised not to leave their books/study material / personal belongings on the study table/space unattended for more than two hours).
Eligibility: Only enrolled students, research scholars, faculty, and active staff can request acquisitions to procure library resources.
Request Submission: Acquisition requests should be submitted through a designated channel, such as an online form or a physical request slip, at the library's circulation desk.
Relevance: Requests must align with the library's collection development policy and support the institution's community's educational, research, or recreational needs.
Format: Requests can be made for materials in various formats, including but not limited to print books, e-books, audiobooks, journals, and online databases.
Review Process: Acquisition requests will be reviewed by library staff or a designated committee to assess their suitability based on factors such as relevance, quality, and availability.
Budget Consideration: The library's budget constraints will be considered when evaluating acquisition requests.
Timeliness: Requests will be processed promptly, with efforts made to acquire requested materials as soon as possible, subject to availability and budgetary constraints.
Communication: Library patrons will be informed of the status of their acquisition requests, including whether the requested materials have been acquired, are pending, or cannot be fulfilled.
Library Membership: Patrons may need to register for library membership to borrow materials.

Responsibility: Library users are expected to receive an email notification after they issue, return, or renew a book. However, users are advised to promptly contact the library circulation counter if they find any discrepancy in the circulation transactions email.
Restricted Material: Reference material, Magazines, and Newspapers will not be issued; these may be used in the library premises only.
Renewals: Patrons can renew borrowed materials for an additional loan period, provided no holds exist. Renewals can often be made online or in person.
Fines and Fees: Libraries charge Rs. 5/-per day as fines for overdue. In case the book is lost/damaged/disfigured, the user must report to the library in writing. The borrower will be required to replace the same or the latest edition of the document along with INR 100 and overdue charges.
Holds and Reservations: Patrons may be able to place holds or reservations on items currently checked out, allowing them to be notified when the item becomes available.
Recalls: Libraries can recall checked-out items if needed by other patrons or for other reasons, and borrowers must return them by a specified date.
Inter-library Loan : If a library does not have a particular item, patrons can request it through inter-library loan.
Silent Mode: Patrons using gadgets (mobile, laptop, tablet, music devices) should keep them silent mode in the library.
Personal Responsibility: Patrons are responsible for the security and safety of their gadgets. The LRC will not be liable for any damage, loss, or theft of personal devices.
Disturbance Prevention: Patrons using gadgets should refrain from engaging in activities that disturb others, such as playing loud music or watching videos without headphones.
Privacy and Confidentiality: Patrons should respect the privacy and confidentiality of others when using gadgets in library spaces, including refraining from taking photos or videos of other library users without their consent.
The Learning Resource Centre offers designated group discussions or presentation spaces. The library has implemented a new policy to ensure the proper use of these rooms.
